A sweet, fun, sticky experience this involves lots of chocolate syrup and a slip n slide

Get ready for a long hot shower after a sweet, new experience of a chocolate slide! This is not just an ordinary slide, if you were thinking of a slide that is just made out of chocolate, you thought wrong! Here I bring to you a sweet, fun, exciting chocolate syrup slip and slide that lets you try out a new experience that hey you, may hate it or you may love it, you can’t please everyone! Don’t get me wrong a simple slip and slide with water is always a fun time, but what if it was switched up a notch and replaced the water for chocolate syrup? Some may say this is the best and worst idea that comes to mind.

Calling all chocolate lovers and people who like to live off the edge and try new things!!! This summer I say if you wanted a unique twist on your birthday, an event, etc., this chocolate syrup slip n slide will sure to appeal to your sweet tooth. Now this is only going to happen if you get a people interested in doing it or willing to help.

In order for this Chocolate syrup slip and slide to happen you will need:

  • ·         A huge space for this slip and slide to happen (200 yards)
  • ·         Materials for the Slip n slide, for example plastic
  • ·         Lots and lots of chocolate syrup bottles (hundreds)
  • ·         Willing participants that aren’t afraid to get a little sticky
  • ·         A Hose or shower close by so people can rinse off

Now this does not have to be specifically in a 200 yard place, it can even be as simple as just having one in your backyard to save money. A lot of people may say “Go Big, or Go Home!” and do a giant slip and slide which does sound a lot of fun when there are a lot of people willing to try this sweet and sticky experience. Bring out the Go Pros and record the whole experience as you slip n' slide with chocolate syrup, but make sure that when you are recording that it is protected and covered by a case, because you will be cleaning up after yourself and the stuff you bring. This can actually be a big event that may happen every year if it does run smoothly and sticky ( no pun intended ). This can be very popular and many people can Snapchat this and create a Snapchat Geo filter that will allow people to record the event and keep people updated to what is happening. It is just the matter of people who are willing to get down and dirty for this. Try new things, jump a bit out of your comfort zone, have fun with it, and most of all enjoy it with the people around you participating.

If you want to see a giant chocolate syrup slip n slide in action, check out Nickolas Garrett’s video of him and a bunch of his friends make this happen.

Content Marketing: Kit Kat and M&M's

• Who are you creating this campaign for (which brand)?  M&M’s
• What is your idea? If I were to do something big with M&M’s characters I would actually use snapchat as my digital platform to interact and connect with the fans.
• Who is your audience? The audience that I will be looking at is millennials that are active on snap chat which majority are on 18-24, or 18-34.
• What will it look like? I would create snapchat lenses of the 6 M&M characters so that snapchat users are going to be able to interact with each of them with taking pictures are videos. Also on the day of when M&M’s will have their 75th anniversary can have a geofilter that will display that they are celebrating M&M’s 75th anniversary and snapchatters can celebrate it with them too.
• What are your goals? - outline the conversion you are looking for; likes, followers, subscribers, click a link, etc.)?
The goals that I will be looking for is to post on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram first to reach out to followers or general fans to add M&M’s snapchat account for other information and interactive ideas for their 75th anniversary.
• When are you planning on launching (is there a time sensitive consideration; Christmas, New Year’s resolutions, back to school, summer travel, etc.)?
I would be planning on launching this once everything is dealt with, with Snapchat and creating the snapchat geo filter along with the 6 M&M’s character lenses. Once that is done I would start promoting the snapchat account just to get a rough estimate of how many snapchatters will add them on their accounts.
• What is your Social Strategy:  which platforms are you going to promote this on – describe at least two platforms?
The two platforms that I will be using to promote this is on Facebook and Instagram. Facebook is a good platform to use because it can reach a wide variety of people that looks at posts and for M&M’s to have a sponsored ad for people to read can be about the 75th anniversary of M&M’s and 75 is a big number to be around, so to show that they are celebrating their 75th anniversary is a bg thing for them, and for people to be like “wow 75 years already?”
With Instagram there can be posts of pictures to show that it’s their 75th anniversary, and to incorporate a bunch of the M&M colours which is very key for its brand.
• How will this campaign attract, acquire, and engage your audience?
This campaign will attract, acquire, and engage  with the audience because what is a better way to interact with an audience then to use Snapchat because that is what they are all about, using real time, to interact with an audience. A good way to get them to interact with their brand is to bring out their brand characters that make M&M’s, M&M’s. The characters especially each have their own individual personality that people can connect with , and for the many M&M fans it can attract them and to go out and buy some M&M’s after the campaign launch.

Kit Kat Vs M&M's Chocolate: Fan Pages

Introduce your readers to “fan pages”, influencers and inbound links for both brands.  These are unofficial pages where fans post videos, images, blog posts or reviews about your brand. These could also be online magazines, product rating sites, celebrity endorsements, Word of Mouth marketing.  Use Moz and hashtagify.me to gather this information.  Which brand has the strongest Page Link Metrics and word-of-mouth marketing?  List at least 3 links for each Brand with descriptions.  Include descriptions of the kind of content viewers can expect to find on each of the fan pages.  Include screen captures and urls so that you can include embed these links at a later date .
There are a couple of Kit Kat fan pages on facebook, and twitter and separate accounts or pages that just show their love for the brand. Since the fact that Kit Kat is worldwide there are many people around the world that can connect with eachother through a facebook platform of a chocolate bar. The fact that in different parts of the world have exotic flavours which can give an interest with people who like trying new things. I know for myself I definitely want to try out the different kinds of flavours of Kit Kat like strawberry, green tea, etc.

M&M’s has a fan page with Facebook where you can find fun friends that are passionate about their favourite 6 M&M’s Characters, with this page there seems to be a lot of posts about each of the individual 6 M&M’s characters and which M&M packages they are feature on. There are a lot of seasonal products coming out and updates for the latest must try falvours. On top of that there are separate pages for each of the M&M’s colours so there is a page for M&M’s Red, and Orange. There are other posts like funny cartoon posts for example there was one about “ How about a little “Hump Day Humor!!!” The picture shows the yellow M&M sitting on the train with the Peanut guy sitting in different spots, and looking at different directions. The caption follows “For years they rode the same train on their daily commute, never knowing they also shared the same inner secret”  Which I found very ironic because the yellow M&M’s are the ones with a peanut inside it.

Kit Kat Vs M&M's Chocolate: YouTube

Kit Kat’s Youtube has 28,047 subscribers, and has many Kit Kat related channels for different places like Greece, Cz/Sk, Malaysia, Australia and Br. The recent videos that were posted were 3 days ago, 1 week ago, 2 months ago, 4 months ago, to 9 months ago. So there have been a few breaks that Kit Kat hasn’t been posting videos often and may take even months. But with the recent 3 videos posted were somewhat related to a break factor that Kit Kat is known for their “Breaks” and what they do when they have a break. The first one is “#ValentinesBreak” which was a video about someone searching up a bunch of things for Valentine’s Day whether it is something that they need to look for to get a valentine, or valentine related stuff, and towards the end after a lot of searches it ends off with a picture that sys their famous slogan “Have a break, have a KitKat”  I can see where they want people to take a break from what they are doing and just enjoy a Kit Kat as they really want their brand to be one where you automatically think of KitKat when taking breaks.  Some of the videos were Android related with the green Android characters, advertisements, and other guests that are featured in some of their videos.

M&M’s Chocolate’s Youtube channel has 117,490 subscribers, and the channel seems to have some of their video titles in Spanish and some in English titles, which I don’t know why it could be in Spanish. But they also do have a related channel to them which is their M&M’s commercials which they do have a lot of commercials, seasonal ones, some would be about the different flavours that M&M’s offers. They always make sure to incorporate their colours like the brown to represent chocolate and the many different colours that there are like blue, red, orange, green, yellow, and brown. Each have their own personality and character which can grasp upon a younger audience. The latest video that was posted was 2 weeks ago and it is about the view of a new virtual reality film developed by a contemporary artist, KAWs, and the publishing icon, Visonaire, to help celebrate their 75th anniversary. After the latest video the rest were posted 1 month ago, 2 months ago and those videos had Spanish titles, after that the other videos are title in English. The ones with the Spanish titles were related to its 75th anniversary.

Kit Kat Vs M&M's Chocolate: Twitter

Kit Kat’s twitter page goes hand in hand with its brand and colour, as red is their main colour that represents them, it includes red lettering like in their hashtags. Kit Kat has 352k followers and it seems that Kit Kat is a lot more interactive with its Twitter followers and seems to be posting very often. Kit Kat will take Kit Kat lovers or related tweets towards posting on their Twitter feed with replying to their tweet. They really emphasize and hashtag with their slogan of #HaveaBreak #HaveaKitKat and of course making it personal with #mybreak. They will also retweet a bunch of fan tweets and a lot of them either are about the going to eat a Kit Kat or creative ways that Kit Kat is portrayed for example a tweet has posted with a picture with the caption of “Would you snack on a Kit Kat sushi?” . They showed different kinds of sushi Kit Kat , it is more of the smaller sized Kit Kat’s on the sushi rice, which was a cool creative idea. Another tweet is an image of Snakes and ladders but instead it was called “ Snakes & Breaks!” #mybreak “ which was a clever way to incorporate their brand with a game. Kit Kat has also retweeted a bunch of the many different flavours that are available at different places.

M&M’S Chocolate Twitter page goes hand in hand with its brand and the whole chocolate feel to it as their colour for their fonts is brown which would indicate chocolate. M&M’S have 88.3k followers, the recent post that was tweeted was on February 14th, 2017 which is Valentine’s Day  and it incorporates the coloured M&M’s to be in the shape of a key, and a heart , to send the message of “The key to their heart is M&M’s and is a cute way to send their message out there with M&M’s colours. Another post that was recent was on February 5th, 2017 which was related to the Super Bowl 51, one tweet saying “What a game!” with an image of M&M’s in the shape of the word WOW. The second tweet was to congratulate New England Patriots for their win, which was a GIF that were the colours of the Patriots team colours, and it was a bowl of navy blue, red, and white M&M’s . Another tweet that appealed to my eyes was the video of their M&M’s Ice Cream Bars which loo delicious and it was a video of someone opening the package and taking the 4 ice cream bar sandwiches, then sharing it with 4 people.  M&M’s does not seem to interact with their followers as much as Kit Kat does where they take their tweet to reply to their tweet so it is present on their profile that they answered back to the many twitter followers. They seem to be posting at least once a day, but after their Valentines post they had stop to tweet daily. But what M&M’s does really good is their visuals because vibrant colours really do catch someone’s eyes.

Kit Kat Vs M&M's Chocolate :Facebook

For Kit Kat’s Facebook page this one is a verified page that has 25,820,597 likes, and shows that the page is very responsive to messages along with the About Page that says “Typically replies within minutes” which I find very cool that Facebook does this kind of feature to public pages, and shows that Facebook users are active.
The recent posts that Kit Kat has posted is on November 24th, 2016 and this post was followed by 4 photos connected to the Super Bowl LII which should be next year’s Super Bowl. But I find it interesting that they posted it in the year 2016, but during that year for the Super Bowl they added photos that involved with the team like “Cowboy Crudités” and another “Seattle Spread” which were the two teams that were facing each other. Another post that really caught my attention was posted July 2nd, 2016 and it is a Kit Kat wafer that is split in half incorporating the rainbow colours for pride. The caption included “Never have a break from being loud and proud. This weekend, this month, or ever.” I found this post very moving and surprised that Kit Kat did this sort of thing, but with Facebook now you can react to posts and I noticed that some people reacted to this post as angry which I find very unnecessary but I guess you can’t please everyone.  Kit Kat hasn’t been very active this 2017 year with posting on Facebook, but a post from last year in March was about the new flavours that had come out; mint and cookies and cream. The post got 3.2k likes which may not seem a lot but it is to Kit Kat because majority of their posts only reach in the hundreds, I am very surprised because Kit Kat has a lot of followers but the followers doesn’t seem to interact often whenever they post.

For the M&M’s Chocolate Facebook, I ended up choosing the “M&M’S U.S.A” because it is verified, and it seemed like it had more activity than the other Facebook accounts for M&M’S Chocolate. They have 10,655,118 likes, and in their About Page they included a number, website, and a messenger saying that they “Typically replies within a few hours” which I find pretty nice and on a personal level if anyone had questions, concerns, or maybe even complaints, who knows what kind of messages they get from Facebook users. Aside from that the recent post that they had posted was on February 14th, 2017 which Valentine’s Day is showing a photo of the seasonal flavour M&M’s chocolate, they are red, pink and white ones. Another recent post that they have posted is a short 15 second loop video of M&M’s chocolate filled in a bowl to an empty bowl, which was for the weekend of the Super Bowl saying “Make sure that you’re stocked up on your M&M’S this weekend for the Super Bowl. As I do scroll down on the page there is not one where it is not colour, and I think M&M’s have that appealed look that people may like, and it really does catch a person’s attention especially if they are bright, vibrant colours. A post that really caught my attention that other may find different but M&M’s had posted a picture of “The Best Popcorn” which was 1 part popcorn and 1 part M&M’s Crispy. Which I find very creative for them to post, especially with adding a caption that says “Add some color to your popcorn”, and got 21k likes. I believe that it got that many likes is because it is a unique way that people can enjoy M&M’s and popcorn as a snack, and maybe even interest them the next time they have a movie snack. M&M’s Chocolate Facebook page definitely does not fail to bore your eyes , but always uses M&M’s creatively by its colours. With that being said, I have noticed sometimes they will post back to back, and other times will be a few days until they post a new one, so it is not a Facebook page that posts every day with something new, but they make sure to present their brand as colourful because that’s what M&M’s are known for.
